Uncle Mario and the Missing Remote
Uncle Mario was sitting on the couch watching TV when suddenly he couldn't find the remote.
He checked under the pillow.
Nothing.
He checked the table.
Nothing.
He checked his pockets.
Nothing.
“WHO TOOK THE REMOTE?!”
Everyone in the house came running.
His nephew asked, “Where did you last have it?”
Uncle Mario pointed at the couch.
“Right here!”
They searched everywhere.
After ten minutes, his nephew noticed something.
“Uncle…”
“What?”
“What's that in your hand?”
Uncle Mario looked down.
He was holding the remote.
Everyone stared at him.
He looked at the remote, then at everyone else.
“Oh.”
His nephew laughed.
“You've been holding it this whole time!”
Uncle Mario remained completely serious.
“No.”
“No?”
“I wasn't looking for the remote.”
“Then what were you looking for?”
Uncle Mario pointed at the remote.
“The person who stole it.”
His nephew sighed.
“Uncle, you ARE the person who had it!”
Uncle Mario smiled.
“Exactly.”
He turned on the TV.
“Case closed.”
Then he added:
“I'm a remote detective.”
“That's not a thing.”
“It is now.”
And Uncle Mario went back to watching TV like nothing happened.
