The World’s Worst Detective
Detective Bob was the greatest detective in town.
At least, that’s what Bob told everyone.
One morning, a woman ran into his office.
“Detective! Someone stole my bicycle!”
Bob immediately grabbed his magnifying glass.
“Don’t worry. I’ll find the thief.”
He walked outside and examined the ground.
After five minutes, he stood up dramatically.
“I’ve found a clue!”
The woman gasped. “What is it?”
Bob pointed at the ground.
“A tire track.”
“That’s from my bicycle!”
Bob nodded proudly.
“Exactly. The thief must have taken your bicycle.”
The woman stared at him.
“…Yes. That’s why I called you.”
Bob continued investigating.
He followed the tire tracks down the street until he reached a bakery.
He walked inside.
“Excuse me! Did you see someone riding a stolen bicycle?”
The baker shook his head.
“No, detective.”
Bob looked around suspiciously.
Then he pointed at a man sitting in the corner.
“That man looks suspicious!”
The woman whispered, “Bob… that’s my husband.”
Bob froze.
“Oh.”
The husband stood up.
“I’m here because I was looking for you.”
The woman asked, “Why?”
Her husband sighed.
“Because I found your bicycle.”
Everyone gasped.
Bob smiled proudly.
“Case closed!”
The woman frowned.
“But where was it?”
Her husband pointed outside.
“It was in our garage.”
Bob slowly put away his magnifying glass.
“So…”
He cleared his throat.
“…the thief was very good at returning stolen bicycles.”
